It is hard to believe that television audiences first met the iconic trio of Jack Tripper, Chrissy Snow, and Janet Wood five decades ago. When Three’s Company premiered on ABC in March 1976, viewers instantly fell in love with the hilarious roommate antics, brilliant comedic timing, and heartwarming storylines. John Ritter’s legendary physical comedy anchored the show, making every half-hour a masterclass in television entertainment.
To honor the beloved series' monumental 50th anniversary and to celebrate the enduring legacy of John Ritter—who tragically passed away from an acute aortic dissection in September 2003—the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health has announced the upcoming Come And Knock On Our Door Tour. This nationwide celebration will bring the joy of the classic sitcom directly to the stage through live theatrical experiences while raising vital health awareness.
Tour Dates and Live Staged Readings
Through 2027, the special anniversary tour will make stops in major cities across the United States, including New York, Dallas, Cleveland, and Los Angeles. Each city will host a unique live staged reading of a classic Three’s Company episode, giving devoted fans a chance to experience the magic of the show in an entirely new way.
- New York City Kickoff: The celebrations begin on Monday, November 2, 2026, with an Evening From The Heart event hosted at Joe's Pub.
- Star-Studded Cast: Amy Yasbeck, John’s widow, and original series star Joyce DeWitt will host the opening event. Actor Jason Biggs is set to step into the iconic role of Jack Tripper in New York City, while Richard Kline, who famously played neighbor Larry Dallas, will serve as narrator.
- National Reach: Additional cast members and guest stars are slated to participate in upcoming tour stops across Dallas, Cleveland, and Los Angeles.
Honoring a Legacy Through Aortic Health Awareness
Beyond celebrating a beloved milestone in television history, the revival serves a deeply meaningful purpose. The John Ritter Foundation was established by John's family to promote education, research, and early detection regarding aortic dissections. By bringing fans together to celebrate the laughter and warmth of the show, the foundation continues its vital mission to save lives.
“This event is a celebration of John, the joy he brought to all of us through Three’s Company, and the community that continues to carry his memory forward,” expressed Amy Yasbeck in a release. “Bringing the show to the stage 50 years later is our way to honor him while helping us continue our mission to save lives through aortic dissection awareness and research.”
Reflecting on the enduring impact of the series, Donald Taffner Jr., president of DLT Entertainment, added, “Having been on set during the taping of Three’s Company, I got to see John's extraordinary physical comedy and warmth firsthand. Bringing these classic scripts back to life on stage is not only a tribute to a show that meant, and continues to mean, so much to millions, but a meaningful way to honor John's legacy and support lifesaving aortic health research.”
